I used a combination of tissue paper from the dollar store and sheets I had on hand to make a fun display of colors and patterns.
Just be aware that it might take longer for the kids to go through it, and the first few whacks are going to feel like thuds for those kids. But really, anyone who is a kid-at-heart would too. I forgot to share this Christmas gift idea, so I thought it would be a good time now since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Place the paper bag over the prize; trim the edges as necessary and attach with tape. Refer to the size of the pinata before you purchase it to make sure it will hold enough candy for all of your guests.
I have created a chart with an extra 13 for a grand total of 28 boxes you can make with this punch board. The original idea I saw had brown paper bags taped to the back of a piece of poster board. But I gave mine as a Christmas gift and had some heavy items that just wouldn’t work in a paper bag. So I made mine out of a cardboard box. Place prizes on tissue paper, cover with paper bags and attach bag with tape. Just cut a piece of tissue paper to cover each circle and attach them to the inside of the cardboard with tape. Mine is a bit wonky with folded corners and such, but I didn’t let the papers overlap just in case a punch opened up an adjacent circle. When turned right side out, however, you’ll see neat, clean circles. We had an insane amount of fun with her banana-themed third birthday party. And as soon as she said she wanted a banana party we pretty much knew we had to make a banana stand.

In retrospect, I would recommend marking straight lines; it makes it easier to attach the bags at this stage. Since my circles were shaped in a figure 3, it required some strategic taping to make sure the bags were secure.
